The Two Colour Distress Finish

Look at these awesome colour combinations and textures we have created using the two colour distress technique. Want to know how to create this finish yourself? Here’s how you do it. 1 2 Start by painting a base colour. This will be the colour that just peeks through on the edges and detail areas of your piece. It could be a soft neutral colour or a fun pop of colour!Next paint a different colour on top of your dry base colour. This is usually a colour that contrasts your base coat so you have a nice definition when you distress. Could be lighter, could be darker…. It’s up to you!Using a fine grit sandpaper lightly sand away some areas of your top colour to reveal the underneath colour. You can sand a little or sand a lot. Check out Annie Sloan’s video for a more in-depth how to.
