DIY Stamped Wrapping Paper
Add an extra special touch to your gifts with hand stamped wrapping paper! This How-To video will show you the steps I took to make a couple of tree shaped stamps and how I used them to create custom wrapping paper. I had so much fun making this video tutorial and absolutely love the results! Click on the video below to lean how to make your own! What do you think? I love how inexpensive it was to make the stamps, I used some scrap pieces of wood and a piece of kids craft foam! Stick with simple shapes that you can easily hand cut and you won't be dissapointed. Like hearts for valentines day, flowers in the spring, even letters or initials. As far as paper goes, this was a roll of brown kraft paper. It's often used for packing, wrapping, banners and book covers because it's smooth and sturdy. The smoothness helps you get an even stamp impression and it's thicker paper which prevents warping when you are applying paint. Check your local hardware store, post office, office supply store or craft store for this type of paper. Plain kraft paper gift bags or plain cardboard boxes would also make a great surface for stamping. The green paint I used is Chalk Paint™ by Annie Sloan in Amsterdam Green and Olive, love this stuff because it's quick drying, no smell and cleans up easily with soap and water. When dry, Chalk Paint™ has a very flat, matte appearance which I think is perfect for this style of wrapping paper.
